Cysterny, samochody ciężarowe z cysterną
Sama cysterna to zbiornik do przewozu dużej ilości cieczy, gazów lub ciał stałych, a samochody ciężarowe z cysterną to pojazdy do przewozu tejże cysterny. Samochód cysterna – zastosowanie w transporcie
Najczęściej wykorzystywane są samochodach ciężarowych są cysterny paliwowe – korzysta się z nich w przemyśle naftowym i gazowym. Ciężarówki cysterny chemiczne podlegają najsurowszym przepisom BHP w zakresie transportu. Wyróżnia się też samochody cysterny do transportu żywności i produktów mleczarskich, cysterny podciśnieniowe na nieczystości, ciężarówki cysterny asenizacyjne do wypompowania ścieków, wysokociśnieniowe oraz odzyskowe do odzyskiwania brudnej wody.
Ciężarówki cysterny stosuje się głównie w przemyśle spożywczym, ale także do transportu towarów niebezpiecznych. Do przewodu tych ostatnich konieczny jest wysoki poziom bezpieczeństwa. Samochody ciężarowe z cysterną służące do przewodu niebezpiecznych produktów są wyposażone w szereg zabezpieczeń, takich jak np. łatwo dostępny z zewnątrz wyłącznik akumulatorów, tłumik płomienia na rurze wydechowej, system kontroli ciśnienia w oponach itp.
